Hydraulic AGC is a complex control system with multivariable, nonlinear, strong coupling and timevarying. The conventional control method is difficult to achieve good control effect. The control strategy combining modern control method and intelligent algorithm has become a trend. PID is a kind of control method which is confirmed to be effective. According to the problem that three parameters could not self adjusted, the strategy of fuzzy PID control was put forward. According to the disadvantages that the membership functions of fuzzy control were determined by experience and the parameters could not adjusted dynamically, the method that optimizing parameters by improved genetic algorithm was presented. The simulation results show fuzzy PID controller based on the improved genetic algorithm has a better performance.
