Abstract:In view of the large force and high stiffness requirement of the spindlecolumn system during the hobbing process, a finemodule hobbing machine is taken as a research object. By considering the guide joint stiffness, a FE model was built and the dynamic characteristics of the spindlecolumn was analyzed by using the mode analysis and harmonic response analysis. The result shows that the machine tool has a high stiffness which would satisfy the machining accuracy , and the spindle, guide and ball screw are the weakness elements, the spindle is vibrate dramatically during the low frequency region while the guide and ball screw during the high region which will also course a frequency reduction of the column, and the characteristic of spindlecolumn system is highly influenced by the guide joint stiffness. Besides, the normal cutting force is also an important influence factor for leading deformation of the hobbing spindle.
