The characteristics of pin shaft in a hammer shredder were analyzed by using the finite element analysis (FEA) software of ANSYS/LSDYNA. The maximum stress distribution law of the shredding pin shaft was found out, its ruptured mechanism was reveled, and it was verified that the pin shaft of PSX88104 shredder met the fatigue strength requirement in design. The maximum stress distribution law was verified through experiment, macroopenning of the raptured pinshaft was analyzed, and its fatigue broken was found out. The life of the shredder pin shift can be extended by changing its position at a set period.
