The continuous variation damping force of Magnetorheological damper is realized by the continuous variation of magnetorheological fluid viscosity. A magnetorheological damper with single dualcoil rod binoculars was designed in the experiment based on development of a semiactive suspension system in the offroad vehicle and its damping force was proved to have a 7time increase by the bench experiment. The three parameters, the vehicle yaw rate and the lateral acceleration as well as the roll angle, were tested by the experiment of trying vehicle steeringstability. The result shows that their values decrease by about 20% respectively at different speed, which improves the steeringstability of vehicles at a great level.
