The measuring path planning of the precise impeller based on the three coordinate machines (CMM) was researched. The path planning in CMM was divided into two parts: the top level path planning and the underlying path planning. The top level path planning was contained of the positioning of the impeller, the selection of the measuring tip of CMM, and the optimization of measuring heads space gesture, the matching of the coordinates systems. The underlying path planning was contained of the selecting, grouping andordering of the measuring points. The theoretical measuring path was generated by constructing the parameter line. The scanning method of CMM was analyzed. The boundary surface was constracted. The precision impeller surface was measured with UV surface partitioning, and the precise CMM measuring of the impeller was realized.
