Cutter parameters are important factors for machining accuracy and production efficiency. A cutter measuring system of high precision based on computer vision measurement was investigated, the measurement principle and functional module were analyzed, and some key technologies were proposed. The system can get automatic and precise measurement of cutter point, arc radius and angle. The cutter parameters are stored in database of CNC. This system features high efficiency and precision and automatic level.The experiment result shows a repeatability of 3 μm is achieved.
