Abstract:A certain domestic made hydraulic shock absorber was taken to study as an object. An one dimensional (1D) simulation model was built by using the softwareAMESim based on analysis of the structure and working principle. Simulated damping characteristic curve of different speeds, and the simulation results and experimental ones were compared, and they were well in consistency. It was shown that the use of AMESim software to build the 1D model of hydraulic shock absorber was correct and reliable, which satisfied the needs in practical engineering. In the last, the affection on the dynamic characteristics of the shock absorber caused by liquidfilled piping area, recovery hole throttle area, valve plate stiffness, valve opening pressure and piston aperture is studied in the simulation model, and the simulation model can be used to guide the practical engineering design and related performance prediction.
