A typical application of air flotation technology is across vertical floating support technology that composed of radial thrust bearing and axial bearing. The form to facilitate processing but assembly gap would be amplified by leverage by bearing capacity, which leading to structural instability or loss of accuracy after restart. Through the analysis of the pros and cons of traditional model of gas bearing, a surface type gas bearing was put forward. The numerical simulation model was established, and characteristics of surface type gas bearing and straddletype gas bearing were analyzed. With the help of FLUENT software and DX module of parametric design function, solution for the numerical simulation precision of this kind of problem was put forward. Use the above method, numerical stability under the dimensions of discretization model file was obtained, which was used to carry out the simulation research of the surface gas bearing simulation. Results show that the new grid independence of numerical simulation experiment is helpful to improve the calculation precision of numerical simulation. Gas bearing surface with straddletype gas bearing has the advantages of stability and compact in structure as compared to surface gas bearing.
