The overall plan of a type of CNC gantry boring and milling machine was finished, based on four facts including design process plan, design of kinematics and transmission plan, determination of key parameters and design of overall layout. A practical design process of overall plan of machine was built, which paved the way to the accomplishment of the design and manufacturing of this gantry machine.
