Four feasible system architecture schemes were proposed for the new type of steering gear for a certain ship. Two system architecture schemes were rejected qualitatively based on the advantage and disadvantage of schemes as well as user demand. By the method of improved Quality Function Deployment( QFD), another two schemes that couldnot be assessed qualitatively were evaluated quantitatively on three perspectives: weight value of user demand, weight value of design indexes and multiobjective comprehensive evaluation. Furthermore, the feasibility and correctness is verified by the experiment, which provide an feasible and correct comprehensive evaluation method for system architecture schemes of the new type of steering gear.
