Considering the compressibility of water, the rotation process of ball valve was simulated by sliding grid and UDF technology of FLUENT software. The influence of valves closure regulation on the flow field and water hammer pressure were analyzed. The results show that, when the valve is closed at a constant speed, increasing closure time will reduce the water hammer pressure and the attenuation degree will decrease; the maximal velocity of flow filed in the same degree will reduce too. When closure time is 03 seconds, the twostage closing regulation of quick closing 36° in 0053 seconds can effectively reduce the water hammer pressure.
