The diameter of 1mm hole was machined on the High Nb-TiAl Alloy (Ti-44Al-8.5Nb-0.2Mo-0.2B) plate using D703F high speed EDM machine tool. Taguchi test method was used to investigate the effect of EDM parameters(current, pulse width, and punching pressure)on machining speed and quality. The results were analyzed with analysis of variance and grey correlation analysis.The results show that machining speed and aperture accuracy are all higher when the current is 10 A, the pulse width is 32 μs and the punching pressure is 3 MPa, which has a certain practical value for higher efficiency and higher precision machining of High-niobium Titanium Aluminum Alloy.
