In order to enhance production efficiencies in stamping process and improve limitations of static fitting between press and feeding manipulator,a solution based on coordination control with work cycle overlap was proposed.Servo motors were adopted in horizontal and vertical axis of feeding manipulator,and a PC-based controller was used to realize the multi axis motion control.The EtherCAT bus was applied to link the communication between the press and feeding manipulator,for coordination control with work cycle overlap.An experimental setting was made and the coordination control test was conducted.The results show that the new working period is cut down from 6.23s to 5.76s and the production efficiency is increased by 8.2%,when compared to the traditional static fit method.
