To ensure various manifestations of surface quality which processed by hard cutting rather than grinding sliding gear sleeve fork groove,20CrMnTi bar was cut with CBN tools. With the help of orthogonal experiment method, the effect of cutting speed, feed rate and the back cutting depth on the surface roughness was analyzed by visual analysis and variance analysis. The suitable cutting parameters were calculated by this method. What is more, the wear of cutting tools was analyzed, which helped to select the specific parameters of sliding gear sleeve fork groove processed by CBN cutting technology.
